YPEX announce the release of a new revolutionary online yellow pages platform
2009-04-10
LosAngeles, California, (April 2, 2009)--YPEX partners, is announcing their release of the latest platform in the world of free online Yellow Pages directories. This platform focuses intensely on local search. YPEX has been working for months to redefine how people are able to access the Yellow Pages online. It's no longer about searching for the directory and hoping you find what you are looking for. YPEX is able to give first page placement in Google and other major search engines for specific Yellow Pages listings, and it's targeted to the zip code.
According to Jonathan Burstein, CEO for YPEX, it's a windfall for advertisers and shoppers alike. The feedback we kept getting from both advertisers and consumers was that they would search the online Yellow Pages and they either couldn't find what they were looking for or they would find it, but in another city or state, explained Burstein. YPEX took this problem head on by using highly targeted optimization that focuses down to the local publisher's zip codes and then combined it with an interface that is really easy to use and understand.
What this means for advertisers is that their online Yellow Pages listings are found by people who can shop online and come into their brick and mortar storefront. For consumers it means finding the products and services you are looking for right in their area.
According to Burstein, YPEX's goals are very ambitious. They are going to provide a directory with over fourteen million listings, and working with local publishers and advertisers, they intend to change how the Yellow Pages are used on the internet.
Until now, it's been difficult to bring it all together, the cross-over between print Yellow Pages and the online marketplace, said Burstein. But this is a new day for online Yellow Pages. We are able to offer something that has only been dreamt of in the past. Organic front page placement on search engines that's relevant to what the searcher is looking for. We are very excited to be entering the online Yellow Pages arena with this product.
And why all the trouble for creating another online Yellow Pages? According to Price Waterhouse Coopers on line spending for q4 2008 was $6.1 billion. Search advertising revenues were up 20 percent in '08 and accounts for 45 percent of all online ad spending. ROI-focused lead-generation spending also increased slightly last year and YPEX plans to deliver some of those advertising dollars to their partners in 2009. In a world of economic uncertainty, the wave of the future seems to be banking on people who surf the web.
The YPEX concept was conceived as a joint venture between Burstein, JoAnna Weeks and Europlay Capital Advisors, LLC. a boutique merchant bank and advisory firm that provides angel financing, startup support, business development services and merchant banking services to its portfolio companies and clients. ECA specializes in start-up and venture financed technology, life science, apparel and media companies.
